The Therapy Place

Psychologist

I am the director and lead psychologist at The Therapy Place WA.  I live with my husband (who was born and raised in Donnybrook WA) in Eaton for over 15 years migrating from the USA. I have had 3 children and am involved in running a local support page My Little Luv that supports parents who have lost children in pregnancy, stillbirth, or early infancy following the loss of my second daughter.  I also  volunteer as a bereavement support worker through SANDS WA and provide training for local hospitals and medical staff.

The psychology practice is located at 165A Spencer Street Bunbury but we are pleased to announce our practice provides outreach to The Health Hub at Eaton Fair.

Our practitioners consist of Psychologist, Social Workers, Behavioural Specialist (ABA), and Speech Pathologist.  We specialise in working with children and families but can provide psychological support to all ages.  We work in a range of evidence based methods and can conduct all types of assessments including Cognitive, ADHD, Dyslexia and educational assessments, personality assessments and Formal Autism Assessments and more.

Our Psychologists are experienced in working with Autism and other complex cases that require team intervention approaches.  We work closely with GP’s, Paediatricians, Psychologists, Parents and Schools to get the best outcomes.

Some things people might come to see us are:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Difficult Behaviours
  • Addictions
  • Family Court Matters/Conflict
  • Learning Difficulties/Memory Difficulties
  • PTSD/Trauma
  • Sleep Issues
  • Toileting Issues
  • Social Skills Training/Support
  • Anger
  • Work Stress/School Stress

I absolutely love The Health Hub’s concept of health and wellness and early intervention.  I often tell parents/people to trust their instincts and don’t dismiss little concerns.  It is so much more effective if we step in and support and address concerns early.  Some people come as part of self care to maintain their healthy mind and healthy self.
